Pussy Riot have released the music video for their song Putin Will Teach You To Love The Motherland.

The punk act released the new clip yesterday (February 20) in response to the treatment they have received in Sochi.

When a press conference they had been scheduled to hold was cancelled, Pussy Riot took to the streets to debut a performance video for the song, which is a denouncement of the country’s treatment of political prisoners.

Pussy Riot were struck with horsewhips by Russian police in Sochi on Wednesday (February 19) as they tried to start an impromptu performance under a sign advertising the Winter Olympics in Sochi – watch a video of the incident here.

Pussy Riot’s Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were arrested earlier this week on suspicion of “theft”.

The pair claimed that they had simply been walking down the street at the time of the arrest, adding that they had been followed since their arrival in Sochi.
