Potential Presidential candidate offended by gays using the term ‘marriage’
By Josh Haggis
A potential Presidential candidate has admitted that he is “offended” by gay marriage.
Republican senator Rand Paul made the remark in a new interview with Fox News – where else? – where he argued that “a lot of people” are offended that the LGBT community are fighting to be able to describe their unions as “marriage”.
“Ultimately, we could have fixed this a long time ago if we just allowed contracts between adults,” said Paul. “We didn’t have to call it marriage, which offends myself and a lot of people.”
Paul went on to suggest that he may try and put this idea into motion if he is elected as US President in 2016.
“I think having competing contracts that would give them equivalency before the law would have solved a lot of these problems, and it may be where we’re still headed.”
