British Transport Police are hunting a woman who shouted homophobic abuse at a man on the London Underground.

The woman directed her homophobic tirade at a 23-year-old man while travelling on the Metropolitan Line between Baker Street and Northward stations on November 14.

“As the train approached Northwood, a woman opposite the man began shouting foul-mouthed homophobic abuse at him,” PC Natalie Fairhurst said in a statement.

“She followed the victim off the train, haranguing him all the way to the station exit. This abuse was entirely unprovoked and completely unacceptable,” she added.

Meanwhile, two people were arrested recently in connection with a homophobic attack in Manchester – find out more here.
