Police in Jerusalem have detained a man carrying a knife near the Pride parade.
On Thursday (June 6), the annual LGBTQ march – which started in 2002 – kick-started but back in 2015, a teenage girl was killed by Yishai Schlissel and around 2,500 police officers have been charged with protecting the parade.
But now, according to a police statement, a man – who aroused the suspicion of an undercover officer – was searched and found he was carrying a knife.
The man refused to identify himself, according to i24News, and police took him in for questions.
The Israeli Police National Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld then confirmed to the news outlet that three people were arrested.
Two people were detained on suspicion of planning to disrupt the parade but offered no more details about the identity of the people or their plans.
