is to return for a seventh season.

The acclaimed US sitcom starring Amy Poehler is currently midway through its sixth season on US network NBC. In the UK, BBC Four has picked up the rights to season three and will start showing them later this year.

Although the show has yet to be renewed officially, NBC’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said at a press tour yesterday (January 19): “I’m going out on a limb: Parks and Recreation is going to have a seventh season.”

Parks And Recreation follows the trials and tribulations of the town planning department in the fictional locale of Pawnee, Indiana. Earlier this month (January 12) Poehler won the Golden Globe award for ‘Comedy or Musical Series – Actress’ for her role as Pawnee councilwoman Leslie Knope.
