The man accused of murdering a Grindr date and ate his testicles has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.

25-year-old Kevin Bacon from Michigan, told his housemate that he was meeting a man he had been speaking to on Grindr on Christmas Eve.

According to his housemate, Michelle Myers, he messaged her saying he didn’t know when he would be home as he was ‘having fun’, according to MLive.com.

When he didn’t turn up to his family’s Christmas breakfast, they became concerned.

Police found his car along with a bag containing his phone, clothes and wallet. His car keys were missing.

Kevin’s body was then found on December 28 at Mark Latunski’s home in Shiawassee County’s Bennington Township.

Court transcripts revealed the extent of the mutilation of Kevin.

They state that they found his body hung naked from the ceiling by his ankles with his throat cut. Parts of the body were missing, including the testicles.

Latunski, 50, was charged with one count of open murder and one count of mutilation of a human body.

In January his lawyer filed an insanity plea, citing a history of mental illness including four court-ordered stays in an institution

Latunski’s legal counsel requested their client to undergo competency and forensic evaluations which were granted.

And according to the Detroit Free Press, Latunski failed the examinations meaning he will be unable to stand trial to the murder of Kevin.

Across the next 15 months, clinicians will use a combined approach of counselling, medication and assessment to restore him to competent levels.

If deemed competent, he will face trial.
