The Broadway cast of The Lion King delighted New York subway passengers recently with an impromptu performance of The Circle of Life.

During a break between shows, the cast decided to surprise unsuspecting subway-goers with an a cappella performance of the Elton John-penned song.

Around 30 cast members took part in the performance, which has now made its way onto YouTube and racked up over 1.5 million views in three days.

This isn’t the first time the cast of The Lion King have put on a surprise performance for unsuspecting travellers. Earlier this year, the cast gave a similar performance on a flight from Sydney to Brisbane in Australia.
