Cox was a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday. Corden recalled that Cox was hailed as a trailblazer in Jenner’s celebrated ESPYs speech – to which she replied, “I feel too young to be a trailblazer” – and asked her how it felt to witness Jenner’s public transition.
“What I think is so beautiful about this – my visibility and Caitlyn’s visibility – is that diverse representations of trans people in the media, I think, are so important,” Cox said.
She also described her first meeting with Jenner as “pretty awesome”.
“She’s such a sweet woman, loves her family, and just thinking about the whole paparazzi life that she has, I don’t want that life,” Cox said. “There’s no way she could have transitioned privately, and I think she’s doing it very eloquently and beautifully publicly.”
At Sunday’s private screening, Cox and Jenner also posed with other transgender women, including actresses Trace Lysette and Candis Cayne.
