Kellogg’s has been criticised by anti-gay groups for using mascot Tony the Tiger in a pro-gay advert.

The company sponsored Atlanta Pride, and included an advert outlining their “respect” for the sexual orientation of their employees in an accompanying Pride Guide.

The advert read: “At Kellogg, we’re an evolving culture that respects and accepts employees’ sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression so that all employees can be authentic and fully engaged.”

The American Family Association, known for their anti-gay views, have openly criticised the advert, with their followers calling for a boycott of the company’s products.

One of the group’s supporters wrote on Facebook: “Shame on Kellogg’s. They will pay for this. Sad, sad.”

Another added: “Though I love my Frosted Flakes, I will no longer buy Kellogg products. Its simply wrong to tie cereal to Gay behaviour (sic).”
