‘It’s Raining Men’ set to re-enter Top 20 on Sunday

looks set to re-enter the UK Top 20 this weekend, following a UKIP councillor’s comments that the recent floods were caused by the legalisation of same-sex marriage.

The Weather Girls classic has become the subject of a Facebook campaign after the councillor David Silvester made the comments earlier this month.

The campaign has now attracted over 13,500 likes on Facebook.

According to the Official Charts CompanyIt’s Raining Men is currently at number 21 on this morning’s chart update, and is less than 40 copies off the number 20 spot. It is expected to climb higher as the week progresses, as the campaign gathers momentum.

UKIP councillor David Silvester wrote to his local paper, saying he warned David Cameron that gay marriage would “result in disaster”. He was later suspended over his remarks.
