Lady Gaga has hit out at critics who compare her to fellow popstars like Katy Perry.

During her keynote speech at US music festival South By Southwest yesterday (March 14), the singer revealed her anger at the comparisons.

“I don’t know what the f**k all I have to do with Katy Perry. My music is completely different,” she said.

She also defended her 2013 album ARTPOP, which has failed so far to match the success of her previous releases. “We’ve sold over 2.5 million copies of ARTPOP all over the world,” Gaga insisted. “I’m sorry I didn’t sell a million records the first week, but I have before!”

The Bad Romance singer went on to discuss new music, revealing that a second part of ARTPOP exists, but may never see a release.

“I have a whole second act of ARTPOP,” she said. “There are many volumes of work over a long period of time that’ve just not been released to the public. I’ve chosen not to put [them] into the system… because sometimes it’s just fun to have records that me and my friends listen to. We love [them] and we don’t care what anybody else thinks… [but] maybe one day I’ll release them.”

During the speech, Gaga revealed plans to release a video for a currently unannounced single next Saturday (March 22).

The singer also performed a set at the US music festival on Thursday night (March 13), during which she was spit-roasted, groped and even vomited on. She played an eight-song set featuring tracks from ARTPOP plus one of her biggest hits, Bad Romance.
