Four men have been arrested after allegedly beating a man because he was holding hands with a male partner.

In late December, the victim – who has not been identified – was walking with a male partner in Pasco, in southeast Washington State, when four men approached them.

After being harassed and called an antigay slur, the four men started attacking the man and repeatedly punched him and knocked him to the ground before kicking him.

The man was treated for concussion and possible broken bones, according to Metro Weekly.

Now, the four men – Pedro Mata Contreras, Oscar Emester Mata, Ulises Missael Reyes-Mata, and Jose Torres – have been charged with second-degree assault and malicious harassment.

They all proclaimed their innocence.
