Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson compares gay marriage to murder

By Fabio Crispim

Duck Dynasty

star Phil Robertson has made some more anti-gay comments.

The reality TV star has compared gay marriage to mass murder during a speech at the Western Conservative Summit last week.

Speaking at the event, Robertson claimed that since the start of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan around 6,000 and 7,000 soldiers were killed overseas and about 160,000 people were murdered in the United States during the same period.

“Who’s behind it?” He asked.

The gays apparently.

According to the Advocate, he blamed the Supreme Court’s decision to legalise same-sex marriage as well as the ongoing battle for transgender rights.

He said, “When you allow men to determine what’s right and what’s wrong, you get decisions like the five judges who said, ‘I may not know we have 7,000 years of history of men marrying women – a male and a female… I know it’s been that way for 7,000 years, but we know best for what’s everyone.'”

Robertson also referenced the North Carolina anti-LGBT law which prevents transgender people from using the bathroom which correlates to the gender with which they associate.

Despite many musicians and artists cancelling shows in the state over the anti-LGBT law, Robertson reveals he sides with North Carolina.

He said, “Now there’s grown men barging in on you ladies when you’re putting your Maybelline on.”

“Here’s a newsflash. You see this,” Robertson pulls on his beard, “this be male. All you ladies, you will never ever catch this cat coming in your bathroom.”

This wasn’t the first time Robertson made anti-gay comments.

In an interview for the 2014 January issue of GQ, Robertson said, “It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus.”

Other celebrities that spoke at the Summit included Sarah Palin and Donald Trump.
