A drag queen was left with a crushed shoulder after being struck by a car in West Hollywood two weeks ago.

Sasha Markgraf was leaving the Flaming Saddles bar in Los Angeles when he saw headlights coming towards him. In CCTV footage, the silver Honda Civic swerved towards the popular drag queen before smashing into him.

While speaking to CBS, Markgraf said: “The driver swerved and the next thing I knew I saw headlights.

“I saw headlights and the next thing I knew I was hitting a tree that was next to me. And waking up 10 minutes later…

“It’s sad to say but I think he was coming straight for us. He didn’t have to go right. He didn’t have to veer to the right. He could have kept going straight and he veered to the right.”

Markgraf suffered from a crushed shoulder that required extensive corrective surgery for the injury.

He also suffered a concussion and damage to his knee and despite leaving hospital, he has lost all use of his right hand which could take up to a year for him to recover.
