Closeted bisexual NFL Player: ‘Michael Sam doesn’t speak for all gay men’

A bisexual NFL player has criticised Michael Sam, saying that the openly gay player “doesn’t speak for all gay men”.
Last week, Sam claimed that although numerous closeted gay players in the NFL have come out to him, none of them “have the courage to come out” publicly like he did last year.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, an unnamed bisexual player has fired back at Sam’s remarks, arguing that “courage” has nothing to do with his decision to remain in the closet.
“As a bisexual man, I just feel like Michael Sam does not speak for all gay men,” he explained. “He has his own opinion, but don’t say that we don’t have the courage to come out. It’s totally wrong. Just speak for yourself. No one else.”
He continued: “It’s no one’s business what my sexuality is. You should like me for me, not for who I choose to be with. I feel the NFL isn’t ready for people to be open about it. Or the General Managers for that matter.”
The player went on to suggest that despite some critics suggesting that Sam failed to make it to the NFL because of his sexuality, he believes it was purely down to how he played on the pitch.
“I just don’t think he performed well,” he explained.
