Cher comes out fighting for Biden, says Trump is ‘ripping the guts out’ of the US

The star went off in Vegas - but not before singing Walking In Memphis

By Jamie Tabberer

Cher has hit the campaign trail for Democrat Joe Biden ahead of the US presidential election on 3 November.

The ‘Believe’ singer attended a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend, during which she expressed her feelings about Biden and his rival, Republican leader and incumbent US President Donald Trump.

And she didn’t mince her words.

“If he got four more years, we wouldn’t recognise America”

Speaking about Biden, who she’s known since 2006, Cher said: “He’s honest, he’s truthful, he knows what he’s doing, he’s smart.

“He’s not going to come in with no one. He’s coming in with the best people.”

The 74-year-old continued: “They’re ready to work. They’re ready to try and change what this man in the White House has done.

“He is ripping the guts out of America. If he got four more years, we wouldn’t recognise it. We wouldn’t have any of the freedoms that we have.”

The star also sang her signature 1995 song Walking In Memphis at the event.

Cher also endorsed Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris on Twitter yesterday, saying (in her characteristic caps lock): “WATCHED KAMALA MOTIVATE PPL,2DAY,SHE WAS AMAZING.I WASN’T SURE WHO SHE WAS AS A PERSON..I’D SEEN HER QUESTION PPL AS A SENATOR..(NONE ESCAPED UNSCATHED), BUT AFTER HEARING HER SPEAK 2DAY I REALIZE JOE HAS A REAL V.P. PARTNER. AM BEHIND HER 100% I’M PROUD OF HER [sic].”
