Hellcat Tattoo Studio has announced a fundraiser for the trans community over Valentine’s weekend, with all money raised going to Protect Scouse Dolls.
The Liverpool-based tattoo parlour will host a “Big Gay Flash Day” on 15 February, in light of the recent rollback of trans rights across the UK.
Tattooist, Alice, who will be there on the day, spoke to Attitude about supporting the local trans community. “As we know, trans people are being increasingly discriminated against, or worse,” she said.
“We wanted to help out our local angels at Protect Scouse Dolls” – Hellcat Tattoo Studio co-owner Alice on the trans fundraiser
“We wanted to help out our local angels at Protect Scouse Dolls, who work hard to strengthen the trans community in various ways – from helping with living costs to sports activities,” she continued.
The woman-owned tattoo parlour, incorporated in 2021, has long been a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and is encouraging enthusiasts to attend the event.
“Hellcat is part of the LGBTQ+ community, so naturally we have made sure the studio is a safe environment for everyone,” Alice said.
“It’s really important to me that people feel relaxed and comfortable” – Alice on Hellcat Tattoo Studio being part of the LGBTQ+ community
“It’s really important to me that people feel relaxed and comfortable while getting tattooed, as sometimes a tattoo can be really significant in someone’s healing or transformative journey,” she continued.
Speaking about the fundraiser, she added: “We’re looking forward to a fun day with some lovely artists and local makers also helping the cause.”
Alice will be at the event alongside Louise and owner Alessia, offering a range of designs to those who attend the fundraiser.
All donations will go to Protect Scouse Dolls
