Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star vandalised, sparking outrage amongst fans
The Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is replacing the star

Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been vandalised less than a week after her death, leaving mourning fans outraged.
Reports claim Parton’s name has been scratched out, with crews subsequently working to repair the damage. A new star was seen being installed on 1 September, after the original was defaced.
A woman named Lore Corona posted a video on social media on Monday as she and her family went to lay flowers at Parton’s star following her death on 25 August.

“Somebody decided to do this about 10 minutes before we got here,” she said. “It doesn’t make any sense.”
Corona captioned the video: “When we arrived a custodian was cleaning and told us a woman kicked candles around then with the shards of one scratched the star. Then a man came and stole the flowers that were there. He left soon after we got there and we got to work.”
The video showed what appeared to be her children attempting to wipe away the scratches, with flowers laid in her memory.
The Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce are replacing the star, which was given to the late country singer on 14 June 1984.
New Parton star to be unveiled on Friday 4 September
The bodies wrote on Instagram that they “are proud to honour the legacy of Dolly Parton with a replacement of her star. The new star will be available for viewing this Friday.”
The 11-time Grammy Award winner passed away late last month following a long string of health issues and a later brief battle with cancer. She died peacefully at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Subsequently, Parton’s family held a small and private funeral on the morning of 28 August 2026.
