Amid speculation about Zayn Malik ‘rejoining’ One Direction, Attitude has debunked claims of a reunion following the singer’s re-registration with the band’s original management.

The Sun ran a story yesterday (13 November) claiming the singer had returned to his former group, one year on from Liam Payne’s tragic death.

However, Zayn had simply re-registered as an “individual person with significant control” at PPM Music Limited on 3 November 2025, the company originally managing One Direction.

Fans see the re-registration as a potentially positive sign

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and now Zayn are all listed, as the rest of the X Factor competitors remained signed during the band’s hiatus. The change is likely related to brand ownership and finances, not an official reunion.

Other updates in Zayn’s registration include his updated country of residence, changing from the UK to the US.

Fans see the re-registration as a potentially positive sign for a One Direction reunion, noting that past tragedies, like Liam Payne’s passing, have brought the members closer together.

Liam died on 16 October 2024, with his funeral held a few months later in November at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Notably, all four former bandmates attended, as well Liam’s ex Cheryl Cole.

“It’s more that you’re romanticising the idea” – Louis Tomlinson on a One Direction reunion

Louis spoke to Rolling Stone UK in his cover shoot about the potential reunion of the band after seeing Oasis in concert: “That was one of the first feelings I got when I was there, but I think it’s more that you’re romanticising the idea than [thinking about] the reality of the situation.”

“Things are obviously infinitely more complicated post-Liam. Right now, I can’t foresee a time where I would actually feel comfortable doing that,” he added.

He said he liked the idea of one big show, but with only four members left after Liam’s passing, he felt having their last performance together as a five was “just so perfect.”

Fans are excited about the Zayn “rejoining” the One Direction band members

One user commented on X: “Zayn is officially back in the One Direction company as an active director!! Yep, all the boys are in it again.”

Another fan wrote: “Zayn [is] officially back in One Direction on the ten year anniversary of mitam [Made in the A.M.].”

Despite speculation, the band has not confirmed any reunion plans, and continue to thrive in their solo careers since their split in 2016.
