Top CrossFit Games athlete Alec Smith has come out as gay.
The athlete has competed and won in both individual and part of CrossFit Krypton games and is the younger brother of the former CrossFit Games winner Ben Smith.
Now, Alec has taken to Instagram to publicly come out and detailed his struggles with coming to terms with his sexuality.

In the post, he says: “There’s been something on my mind that I’ve been wanting to talk to you guys for a while about now and I think I’m ready to now.
“I was going to sit down and write everything out but instead I’m just going to talk and see where it goes.
“So I’m gay, and I’m at the point in my life now where I’m ok with it. I’ve accepted it and I’m happy with who I am.”
