Frank Ocean releases new album inside ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ magazine

Frank Ocean opens pop-up shops to give away new album ‘Blonde’ inside a magazine.

Its been a busy week for the singer/songwriter Frank Ocean. Firstly he dropped his visual album Endless on Thursday (18th August) and then he put up a music video for ‘Nike’ on Saturday (20th August). Now he’s gone and outdone himself by releasing another album Blonde inside a magazine called Boys Don’t Cry.

Ocean opened up pop-up shops in New York City, London, Chicago and Los Angeles. Some fans even got to meet Ocean’s mother and brother at the LA event.

At these shops customers were given a silver package which inside had a copy of the magazine and the CD of the album which were completely free.

As well as having the album inside the magazine, it also featured high-fashion photos, poems written by Ocean, some short stories, an outline for a television show and interviews with Lil’ B and Om’Mas Keith.

There was lost of famous people who were credited for contributing to the magazine like Kanye West, Tyler, the Creator, James Blake, A$AP Rocky.

One of the poems in the magazine written by Ocean is called boyfriends. One stanza reads:

“My boyfriend misses me when I’m gone/ so he don’t forget me/ there’s a song he sings/ calms his nerve, endings/ my boyfriend is friendly/ and we don’t want no problems”

The album, Blonde, has even more star power on it. With the likes of Beyonce, David Bowie, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, Matt Mysko, and many more all having credits on the album.
