Fashion’s out and proud A-list lead Attitude’s landmark 300th issue

Edward Enninful, Nicola Formichetti and Olivier Rousteing lead our new September Style issue.

By Will Stroude

Almost two and a half decades after first hitting newsstands in May 1994, the 300th issue of Attitude has arrived in style.

To mark the milestone, three leading gay figures from the world of fashion appear on the cover of our new September Style issue, available to download and in shops now; British Vogue editor Edward Enninful; Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing; and Nicola Formichetti, the pioneering designer behind many of Lady Gaga’s most outrageous looks.

Enninful, who became the first male editor of British Vogue in June 2017, has been outspoken about embracing diversity in fashion.

The Ghana-born stylist initially began his career as a model after being spotted on a London train aged 16. Enninful went on to be fashion director at i-D for two decades, also working at American Vogue alongside Anna Wintour before reviving W magazine.

Meanwhile, designer Nicola Formichetti caught everyone’s attention when he put Lady Gaga in a meat dress and created her wildest outfits.

The Italian-Japanese creative, a former artistic director at Diesel, has never shied away from exploring his sexuality through his work, having released a collaboration inspired by the art of Tom of Finland from his own label Nicopanda.

After beginning his careeer as a designer at Roberto Cavalli, Olivier Rousteing was appointed to the position of creative director at Balmain aged just 25.

Seven years later, the Frenchman has transformed the Parisian label into a household name through his collaborations with artists such as Beyoncé and Kanye West and celebrities including Kim Kardashian.
