Orville Peck has given fans their first behind-the-scenes glimpse of the live-action Street Fighter reboot, in which he plays the iconic villain, Vega.
Based on the 1980s Japanese video game franchise, Peck plays the “Spanish Ninja” – a deadly, vain assassin who works under the evil M. Bison – while Noah Centineo appears as Ken Masters.
In a new photo dump shared to his Instagram grid, the gay musician can be seen shirtless wearing Vega’s long blonde hair with a prominent snake tattoo on his chest.
The Street Fighter video game launched in 1987
He’s later joined by Noah and actress Mel Jarnson for a group shot by their trailers.
“Blonde boy things,” he wrote in the caption of the carousel.
On co-star Callina Liang’s Instagram Story, Orville was seen wearing Vega’s signature mask, a clever nod to his artist persona (talk about branding).
Callina is set to play Chun-Li, the first female fighter in the game’s history. She’ll be joined by David Dastmalchian as the villainous M. Bison and WWE champion Cody Rhodes as Guile.
Jason Momoa is rumoured to star in the reboot
Aquaman actor Jason Momoa is rumoured to appear as Blanka, while Roman Reigns is set to play Akuma.
The film is being directed by Japanese-American actor and writer Kitao Sakurai, after original directors Danny and Michael Philippou exited the project.
Most of the plot details still remain under wraps.
