I Kissed A Boy/Girl creators reportedly planning Tinder spin-off after BBC cancellation

Tinder is reportedly launching an I Kissed a Boy/Girl celebrity spin-off, hosted by Charley Marlowe.
The news comes after the BBC announced this week that the LGBTQ+ dating franchise will not be renewed for a fifth season due to funding cuts.
However, fans may be in luck. According to The Sun’s deputy TV editor Felicity Cross in a social media post, the production company behind I Kissed a Boy, Twofour, is giving the show a lifeline.

Allegedly titled It Started With a Kiss, she claimed it will feature LGBTQ+ celebrities sharing their dating stories, discussing their love lives, and reminiscing about past relationships.
According to Cross, the show will air on Tinder rather than the BBC, as well as on various other streaming outlets such as YouTube and Instagram.
After the original franchise was cancelled, host Danni Minogue spoke out, honouring the series’s legacy – breaking barriers as the BBC’s first all-gay dating show.

As well as this, she offered a glimpse of hope, concluding a video posted to Instagram with this: “And who knows where the IK series will go from there? Ciao, bella.”
Tinder has allowed same-sex matching since its launch in September 2012. The app further advanced its diversity efforts in 2016 by offering a “More Genders” feature in partnership with GLAAD.
The LGBTQ+ inclusive dating app went a step further in June 2019 when it introduced a major update allowing users to officially identify with specific sexual orientations such as gay and lesbian.
Series 4 of the I Kissed… dating show is set to broadcast on the BBC in Spring 2026, with series 2 of I Kissed a Girl. The I Kissed a Boy/Girl franchise is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
