The West End production of the award-winning musical Kinky Boots will be screened in cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

Based on the hit 2005 film, the musical first arrived on Broadway back in 2012 and earned itself 13 Tony Award nominations, winning six including Best Musical and Best Score, and shot Billy Porter into the limelight.

When it arrived in London, the show starred Killian Donnelly as Charlie Price and Matt Henry as Lola and went on to win three Olivier Awards in 2016.

Now Donnelly and Henry will be back in heels for a special performance which will be screened at venues across the UK and Ireland.

Taking to Twitter to confirm the news, the official account for the production wrote: “Kinky Boots will be STRUTTING into cinemas across the UK & Ireland on 4 & 9 Feb 2020!”

The play tells the story of Price, who inherits a suffering shoe factory. Following a meeting with drag queen Lola, Price starts embracing a more flamboyant business model.
