The show is a reboot of the hit 90s TV show which ran from 1998 to 2006

Two new trailers for the Charmed reboot have been released.

The reboot of the hit 90s series was announced earlier this year and described as a “fierce, funny and feminist” reboot of the original series that takes place in present time.

The story will focus on three Pruitt sisters Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) in a college town who discover they are witches.

The reboot, which is being made by Jane The Virgin writers Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, will also star Ellen Tamaki (Nico), Ser’Darius Blain (Galvin) and Charlie Gillespie (Brian).

The new plot reads: “After the tragic death of their mother, three sisters in a college town are stunned to discover they are witches.

“Soon this powerful threesome must stand together to fight the everyday and supernatural battles that all modern witches must face: from vanquishing powerful demons to toppling the patriarchy.”

Now, two new trailers have been released where the three sisters learn they are witches and are seen chanting a spell to ward off a demonic creature.

Although the CGI looks better than the original, whether it lives up to the series – which ran from 1998 to 2006 – is yet to be seen.

The original series was the longest running American TV show with all-female main characters until it was surpassed by Desperate Housewives.

The release date for the reboot was also been revealed as October 14 on CW.
