Taron Egerton stars as the iconic singer in the new film about his life

The first teaser trailer for the Sir Elton John biopic Rocketman has been released.
Dubbed as a ‘true fiction’, the film follows the singer’s life, from his years as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his influential and enduring musical partnership with Bernie Taupin.
The trailer shows the singer shoot to fame but follows his turbulent battle with addiction and judging from the footage, the film looks to be a hit among John fans.
It also shows Taron Egerton – who stars as John – wearing numerous flamboyant and extravagant costumes which the singer is famous for.
The trailer comes just a week after the first image of Egerton as John was released to the public.
Dexter Fletcher has helmed the film, which has been written by Lee Hall, the man behind Billy Elliot the Musical and the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley
Egerton stars alongside Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Gemma Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Rocketman is slated to be released in May next year.
