Watch the first ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer

The first trailer for the next entry in the Star Wars franchise has been unveiled. Watch it below.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – released in cinemas next December – will centre on iconic characters Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker 30-years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Original Star Wars favourites Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Antony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will all be back for The Force Awakens.

They will be joined by Girls actor Adam Driver, Inside Llewyn Davis‘s Oscar Isaac, John Boyega (Attack the Block), Domhnall Gleeson (About Time), up-and-coming British actress Daisy Ridley, Swedish acting legend Max von Sydow and motion-capture specialist Andy Serkis.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for release on December 18, 2015.
