Watch: Jeremy Kyle clashes with homophobic husband accused of gay affair

By Will Stroude

Ah The Jeremy Kyle Show, that bastion of rational debate and healthy relationship discussion. Viewers were in for a twist on the usual ‘Is it my baby?’ plotline during yesterday’s show, when a woman came in convinced that her husband was having a gay affair – because a psychic told her so.

As it turned out, George wasn’t best pleased with being accused a steamy man-on-man affair: not because of loyalty to his wife, but because he’s vehemently homophobic – something that lead to showdown with the show’s host.

“I’m anti-gay, I hate gay f*ggots,” George said, explaining why the psychic’s allegations couldn’t possibly be true.

“Do you know how disgusting that makes you sound?” Kyle shot back. “Let me tell you something, the producer that put together this show, he’s gay. Is that a problem for you is it?

“No, that’s his problem,” says George.

“Do you know how much you’ve offended him with you Dickensian attitude?” says a flabbergasted Kyle, to which George replies – incorrectly – that it doesn’t matter how offended he is, because not being gay is one of the ten commandments.

As it turns out, the obligatory lie detector test revealed that old Georgey boy hadn’t cheated on his wife with men, but as Kyle put it himself afterwards: “That doesn’t make you a good person.”
