Joan Rivers’ family have released a new statement regarding the Fashion Police star’s health.

Joan’s daughter Melissa said on Sunday (August 31) that the family are “keeping [their] fingers crossed” for her mother’s return to health.

According to TMZ, the 81-year-old comedian was undergoing a procedure on her vocal cords on Thursday (August 28) when she stopped breathing and was rushed to the emergency ward at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. At the time, she was said to be “in critical condition”.

In her latest statement, Melissa expressed her thanks for the public’s “continued love and support”, but did not give an update on her mother’s condition.
