A TV reboot of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp will gender-swap one of the loveable characters.

Fans of the 1955 animation will remember the Scottish terrier Jock and his close bloodhound friend Trusty who befriend Lady when she is taken in by the Dear family.

But now, a new TV remake of the beloved classic – which is set to be helmed by The LEGO Ninjago Movie director Charlie Bean – is planning to change Jock into Jackie, according to Deadline.

Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen is reportedly attached to voice Jackie in the new movie which is slated to be launched exclusively on Disney’s own streaming site.

Disney has tipped a 2019 launch for its streaming service to rival Netflix, but an exact date hasn’t yet been set.
