Troye Sivan helps fan come out to mum during show
By Ben Kelly
Fresh off supporting marriage equality in his Calvin Kleins, Troye Sivan has helped a fan to come out by reading her note aloud on stage during one of his concerts.
The 20-year-old Aussie singer was performing in Washington D.C. on Monday night (March 7) when he paused to read a note he had been passed from the audience.
After asking if the fan in question was “sure” she wanted him to, he read aloud: “If you’re reading this, can you announce that Kelly is bisexual please?” – an announcement that was met by joyful shrieks and cheers from the audience.

The coming out was for the benefit of the girl’s mother, who was also at the event. She shared on Twitter the touching moment that her mother embraced her afterwards.

Speaking after, Troye said it was “one of the most amazing experiences.”
In January, Troye spoke to Larry King about coming out, saying he got his “initial strength” by “going on to YouTube and watching a bunch of coming out videos.”
