By Will Stroude

After being one of the leading films at this years BFI Flare film festival, ‘Heartstone’ will be coming to the UK for a cinematic release then to DVD and iTunes.

The Icelandic film shows Thor and Kristján, who live in a small finishing village. The two become inseparable, hanging out with their older teenage sisters and friends, they get into scrapes and have miscevioush adventures.

The boys come from broken families, one has an alcoholic father and the other a single mother who has just got back onto the dating scene. The two get away from the problematic domestic life by spending time in each other’s company.

The life of early adolescence is captured innocently as sex and the challenges is never far from anyone’s minds.

Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson’s feature debut was the winner of the Queer Lion at last year’s Venice Film Festival and will sure be an LGBT film to watch this year.
