This adorable Broadway Valentine’s Day proposal will make your day

By Troy Nankervis

Broadway theatre-goers watching the Valentine’s Day performance of Kinky Boots were treated to an impromptu marriage proposal, and it’s one of the most touching things we’ve seen in quite some time.

Devon Patane and his boyfriend Wilson Chaikittirattana were sitting in the stalls of the Hirschfield Theatre when cast member Wayne Brady announced after curtain call they had been ‘randomly selected’ to come up on stage, reports NY Daily News.

Yet the invitation was all part of Patane’s romantic plan, who had contacted producers in advance to arrange the surprise proposal.

“I love you so much,” Patane told his Chaikittirattana before the cheering crowd.

“You’re the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Whipping out a ring, Patane dropped down on one knee and popped the question to a a clearly overwhelmed Chaikittirattana, who, after pausing for a moment, accepted.

As the men hugged, the theatre erupted into applause.

“I had no clue at all,” Chaikittirattana said.

“I was in shock and I’m still in shock.”
