The moving gay drama film hits UK cinemas this Friday (25 June).

It feels like we’ve been waiting years for the gay love story Supernova, starring Colin Firth (The Kings Speech) and Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada), to come out – pun intended. But at long last, the UK release date is in sight – this Friday, 25 June.

Ahead of the release of Harry Macqueen’s moving gay drama, Attitude has been given an exclusive clip to whet your appetite further.

In an exclusive new clip Firth and Tucci, who star as partners Sam and Tusker respectively, reminisce about a trip they took years earlier as they pull up at a gorgeous site in the Lake District.

Supernova tells the bittersweet love story of Sam and Tusker, long-term partners bound together by love, but who find themselves being pushed apart by Tusker’s diagnosis of early-onset dementia. The couple revisits their past, as well as family and friends on a road trip set against the beautiful backdrop of the Lake District.

From up-and-coming writer-director Harry Macqueen (Hinterland) and the award-winning producers of 45 Years and I am Not a Witch, it’s a deeply moving portrait of a couple navigating difficult circumstances with wry humour and affection.

The film premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival last September and is being released in the UK by Studiocanal.

Supernova will be available in cinemas nationwide on Friday 25 June. Book tickets here.
