Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson have shared the first teaser of the upcoming series Impeachment: American Crime Story.

The limited series, which will focus on the notorious Monica Lewinsky affair and the impeachment of US President Bill Clinton, follows on from 2016’s The People vs O.J. Simpson and 2018’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace.

The drama stars Beanie Feldstein as Moncia Lewinsky and Sarah Paulson as the former White House intern’s confidante, civil servant Linda Tripp.

“Tell me everything”

The short teaser sees Tripp and Lewinsky striding towards each other as news headlines from the 1998 scandal are played.

We hear Tripp order Lewinsky to “Tell me everything”, with Lewinsky replying “I’m in love with him” – ‘Him’ referring to President Clinton, who will be played by Clive Owens.

The trailer ends as the two characters arrive face to face as Beanie’s Lewinsky says: “My life is over.”

The soundbites offered in the trailer indicate the script will stray true to the real-life recordings of Linda Tripp, who worked in the White during the Clinton administration.

Tripp, who became close to Lewinsky, recorded their conversations and handed them over during the investigation of a separate affair between the President and Paula Jones.

Impeachment: American Crime Story debuts on FX on 7 September. Watch the new trailer below.
