Sam Smith: ‘Tinder and Grindr are ruining romance’
By Sam Rigby
Sam Smith has claimed that apps like Tinder and Grindr are “ruining romance”.
The Stay With Me singer said that he prefers to meet guys the traditional way, rather than swiping left or right based on people’s looks.
Speaking to Metro, he said: “No offence to people who go on Tinder but I just feel like it’s ruining romance, I really do. We’re losing the art of conversation and being able to go and speak to people and you’re swiping people.
“From my experience the most beautiful people I’ve been on dates with are the dumbest, so why would I swipe people who are ‘unattractive’ when I could potentially fall in love with them? Stop Tinder and Grindr!”
He also revealed that he has been a couple of dates with a particular guy, but does not know if it will lead to something serious.
“I’ve been on a couples of dates. I’m good dates,” he said. “I used to get really nervous but now I’m better. There is one particular guy that I’ve been on a few dates with. I like him but who knows?”
Smith recently dismissed the suggestion that he came out earlier this year – read more here.
Meanwhile, the singer is reportedly being lined up to record the next James Bond theme, following in the footsteps of Adele – find out more here.
