Sam Smith leads Brit 2015 nominations

By Josh Haggis

Sam Smith leads this year’s Brit Awards nominations with a total of five nods.

The openly gay singer’s nominations include Best British Male, Breakthrough Artist and Best Album for his critically acclaimed debut album In The Lonely Hour.

Smith, who’s also been nominated for Best British Single and Best Video, was the only artist to have sold over one million copies of an album in both the US and the UK in 2014. Find out more here.

Ariana Grande appears to have been snubbed in the Best International Female category, leaving heavyweights Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Lana Del Rey as the main contenders to take home the prize on the night.
