Sam Smith, single no more? The lovelorn crooner ties the knot in the video for his new single, Lay Me Down.

Coming just a day after Smith took to Twitter to encourage fans to stand up for gay rights, the singer has dropped a wedding-themed video for the latest single off his top-selling In The Lonely Hour album.

And it seems Sam, whose earlier videos kept things somewhat ambiguous in dealing with his sexuality, is growing more confident as an openly gay pop star: set entirely in a church, the video shows Sam tying the knot with his handsome male groom, surrounded by cheering loved ones.

“With this video myself and Ryan Hope the director have decided to make a statement and showcase something we passionately believe in,” Sam said in a post on Facebook today.

“This video shows my dreams that one day gay men and women and transgendered men and women all over the world, like all our straight families and friends, will be able to get married under any roof, in any city, in any town, in any village, in any country.”
