By Fabio Crispim

Rylan Clark-Neal and husband, Dan made history today by being the first gay couple to present ITV’s flagship daytime TV show This Morning.

The pair are temporarily replacing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford who are both on holiday and, despite saying that they didn’t want the responsibility, viewers loved it their takeover.

The couple introduced the show with Rylan saying, “For the first time in the show’s history, me and my husband Dan are going to be presenting today. We’re the first two blokes, two lads!”

Dan admits he’s nervous, and we can see, before Rylan injects and reveals that Dan had been up until 1am preparing and “making notes” for the show.

Rylan, who recently revealed how Dan proposed to him, said, “This is what wound me up last night, he was up until 1 o’clock this morning with a notepad, making notes!”

Dan snapped back quickly, “He was calling me a swot!”

When The Only Way Is Essex‘s Ferne McCann appeared on the show for the showbiz report, Rylan pointed out that she “looked smashed”.

According to the Mirror, she struggled to get through the report when Rylan said, “Ferne you look lovely but you can tell you’ve been out all night.”

“Do I look rough?” She asks before admitting that she only had half an hour of sleep after partying with Kylie Jenner and Tyga .

Some viewers loved the pair with some viewers praising the couple. But others slammed Dan for being too nervous.

However when the two-hour show was over Rylan took to Twitter to thank the viewers and to state how proud he was of Dan.

He wrote, “Thanks so much for watching ITV This Morning. very proud of the boy.”
