The hit show is up for best reality TV show and the LGBT film is up for Best Kiss

RuPaul’s Drag Race and Love, Simon have been nominated for this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards.

The hit TV show has been nominated for best reality TV series and will go up against the likes of Love & Hip Hop, The Kardashians and The Real Housewives.

Last year, Mama Ru took home the accolade and this season has been much better than that so we have faith.

The hit coming-of-age movie Love, Simon – which has received critical appraise – is nominated for Best Kiss category.

But the film is going against Riverdale, Jane the Virgin, Stranger Things and Ready Player One, but fingers crossed the heartwarming LGBT movie takes home the gong.

Marvel’s Black Panther leads the awards with seven nominations with Netflix’s Stranger Things getting six nods.

MTV president Chris McCarthy told Vulture: “This audience actually doesn’t see male-female dividing lines, so we said, ‘Let’s take that down’.

“And they don’t really care whether it’s scripted, reality or a theatrical release.

“They just want to celebrate great content.”

The awards will take place on June 18 at Barker Hanger in LA.
