Queer Eye stars give Barry from EastEnders a makeover

The Fab Five met a true British icon on 'Loose Women' on Friday.

They’ve helped give image overhauls to Christian fathers-of-six, Trump-supporting police officers and even a whole station of firefighters, but the Queer Eye boys have now faced their biggest challenge yet: helping legednary British actor Shaun Williamson, aka Barry from EastEnders, reclaim his personal identity.

Karamo, Antoni, Bobby and Tan stopped by the Loose Women studios on Friday (May 25), where they discussed Queer Eye’s success ahead of the show’s eagerly-anticipated return to Netflix next month before demonstrating their talents as part of a special segment with Shaun, who’s renowned for playing Eastenders’ bumbling Barry Evans for ten years from 1994-2004.

With Jonathan in LA, the remaining members of the Fab Five set to work helping Barry, sorry Shaun, shake off his Albert Square image with a backstage makeover.

As a newly-confident Shaun re-emerged into the studio later in the show, the Fab Five explained: “We made sure his hair didn’t look like Barry’s.

“He looked much older than he was and I don’t think Barry would ever have worn this. You look 20lbs lighter, you look younger.”

Karamo went on: “He looked much older than he was and I don’t think Barry would ever have worn this. You look 20lbs lighter, you look younger.”

“He said he never tried because he was used to people calling him Barry. He can be the star of his own life.”

Giving Shaun some advice to help leave Walford behind him, he added: “Separate work from life. You are not Barry, you are Shaun.”
