‘Pride’ to be adapted for London’s West End?
By Sam Rigby
The story of Pride could be about to find a new home in London’s West End.
The film – which was released in cinemas earlier this month – tells the remarkable true story of how a gay rights group joined forces with striking Welsh miners in 1984.
Screenwriter Stephen Beresford told London Live that negotiations are underway for a stage production.
“We have talked about that, yes, it has been discussed. I think it could work,” he said.
Andrew Scott, Dominic West, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Freddie Fox and Paddy Considine star in the movie, which won the Queer Palm Award at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
