‘Pointless’ to air Eurovision-themed celebrity special

The BBC have announced that the new series of Pointless will include a Eurovision-themed celebrity special.

The Eurovision edition of the popular quiz show will feature a number of famous faces from the annual song contest, including Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker and Mike Nolan, who won the contest for the UK back in 1981 with their track Making Your Mind Up.

Jemini’s Chris Cromby and Gemma Abbey, who finished last with their song Cry Baby back in 2003, will also appear – alongside Sonia, Brotherhood of Man’s Martin Lee and Irish Eurovision champions Johnny Logan and Dana.

Other special themed editions of Pointless set to air during the new series include ‘crime’, ‘medical’, ‘World Cup’ and ‘1970s’. All will feature celebrities battling it out to win money for their chosen charities.

Pointless began in 2009 on BBC Two, but was moved over to BBC One in 2011 due to its growing popularity.
