The Two Brewers in Clapham is closing temporarily for a major refurbishment from Monday 28 September to Wednesday 14 October.
Announcing the news on social media, the gay bar said it’s gearing up for a “FULL GLAM REFURB” writing, “Unfortunately, she’s booked herself some annual leave.”
Closing its doors for two weeks, one of Clapham’s most beloved nightclubs will be back on 14 October looking “bigger, better and more fabulous than ever”.
The Two Brewers announces closure
The news has left a hole in the LGBTQ+ community in Clapham and beyond, with many asking where they’re meant to go in the comments section.
What exactly is changing at Two Brewers in Clapham remains under wraps, but regulars are excited for what’s expected to be a glittering reveal.
Two Brewers previously underwent a major £250,000 refurbishment in October 2018, reopening on 20 October with a revamped booth seating area, new bar and fresh décor.

Located on Clapham High Street since 1981, when Phil Starr opened the venue as a gay pub, The Two Brewers has become a staple in London lgbtq+ nighlife.
The Two Brewers is celebrating 45 years as an LGBTQ+ venue in Clapham this year. Marking the milestone on social media in June, General Manager Oliver and long-serving drag performer Miss Lola Lasagne sat down to honour its legacy – from community and loyalty to the milestones that have shaped the iconic venue.
