Parody Roland Emmerich Twitter account mocks Stonewall controversy

When the trailer for Roland Emmerich’s Stonewall movie went live, it faced heavy accusations of whitewashing – and now that the actual film itself has faced the critics, the controversy has only intensified.
In fact, when the director gave an interview saying “straight-acting” (!) leading man Jeremy Irvine is an easy in for straight audiences, he hardly helped.
Now, as the poor visibility of BME and trans characters in the film looks set to be what it’s best remembered for, someone’s set up a parody Emmerich account poking fun at his seemingly white-heavy casting choices.
