Not a drill: The Spice Girls have visited a studio together

By Fabio Crispim

There have been rumours about a Spice Girls reunion for quite some time and we have some news for you – it happened!

Well, sort of…

Digital Spy reports that Mel B made an appearance on Lorraine today (May 11) and spoke about her meeting her former bandmates yesterday.

“I have such fun memories of all that stuff. It’s funny ‘cos I landed yesterday and I met up with a few of my ‘Spices’ and we were doing a big-time reminisce.”

“It’s nice that we’re all still friends and we’re supportive of each other 20 years on,” she said.

On a public reunion, the 40-year-old added: “We definitely want to do something because it’s a celebration of us still doing our thing 20 years on and us being part of each other, so we’ll see what happens.”

“We’re all just kind of in talks right now – I had a nice cup of tea with Geri and Emma last night, which was lovely.”

But here’s for the exciting news: Music artists Astronomyy and Sarah Close revealed on Twitter that they had met with the Spice Girls – and not only that, it was in a studio environment.

“The Spice Girls are in the studio next door to me,” Close tweeted – before later deleting the message.

With fans begging to find out why they were all together and, more importantly, if Posh was there, Sarah Close only had this to say:

Meanwhile, producer Eliot Kennedy posted some cryptic tweets of his own, saying yesterday was “a day for the history books” and “like 20 years had never happened” – before making references to friendship and a “hit song”.

As followers began to ask if he was indeed talking about the Spice Girls, Kennedy tried to dampen the speculation, but it may have been too little, too late.

So could this be what we’ve all been waiting for? Are they working on a new single? Album? Nothing at all?

We’ll have to wait and see.

If you can contain yourself for long enough, you can watch Mel B’s interview with Lorraine below:
