Meet the same-sex rap couple shattering gay stereotypes

By Attitude Magazine

One couple on the latest series of US reality show Love & Hip Hop Hollywood are taking viewers by storm: Miles Brock and Milan Christopher.

The same-sex couple were announced as joining the ‘docu-soap’ show, which chronicles the fortunes of real-life couples within LA’s hip-hop community, back in August. Since then they’ve become the breakout stars of the series – despite allegations from some that their relationship is staged.

“When more people step up and basically be themselves, people will be more accepting,” Milan told The Grio. “I wish some of the rappers that I know for a fact that are homosexual would just be themselves. Because if the world knew, they would be like, ‘oh wow I have been loving this person for so long and they are so talented.’”

Miles, who before dating Milan was in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend Amber Laura, said that identifying as bisexual was still a taboo for many men.

“Women can freely go back and forth, he said. “The second a man crosses over, they feel like, ‘That’s it. You know, you need to choose one way.’ I was in a relationship with a woman for 10 years and now I’m in a relationship with Milan.”
