Madonna memorabilia to go up for auction
By Sam Rigby
The largest collection of Madonna memorabilia will be auctioned off, it has been announced.
The singer’s Marilyn Monroe-inspired dress from the Material Girl video, her outfit from her recent V Magazine shoot with Katy Perry, and over thirty pieces from Evita, are included in the collection.
Items from the collection are currently on display at the Newbridge Silverware Museum of Style Icons in Kildare, Ireland, where they will stay until September 15.
The collection also includes awards won by Madonna, including her Billboard Music Video Award, a 1991 American Music Award, and an MTV Video Music Award. The trophies have been valued at between $1,000 (£600) and $6,000 (£3,600).
Handwritten notes about choreography and lyrics are also up for grabs, as is Madonna’s day planner and diary from 1988.
A public exhibition will take place in Beverley Hills from Monday, November 3 until Thursday, November. The auction will take place on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8.
A collaboration between Madonna and Eve surfaced online earlier this week – listen to the Pharrell-produced track here.
