Maddie Ziegler returns for Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ video

By Will Stroude

Sia has unveiled the video for her latest single ‘Cheap Thrills’, featuring the welcome return of 13-year-old child prodigy Maddie Ziegler.

Ziegler, who shot to worldwide fame following her breathtaking performances in Sia’s videos for ‘Chandelier’ and ‘Elastic Heart’, returns for the Aussie pop star’s latest outing, which currently sits at number 16 on the UK Top 40 Singles Chart.

The video, which sees the young Dance Moms star flanked by two male back-up dancers, is sure to attract less controversy than her emotionally-charged appearance opposite Shia LaBeouf in ‘Elastic Heart’, which Sia was forced to defend after being accused by some viewers of promoting inappropriate relationships with minors.

‘Cheap Thrills’ is the second single to lifted from Sia’s seventh studio album This Is Acting, which consists of songs originally written by Sia for other artists. It was originally intended to be performed by Rihanna, but was rejected by both the Bajan star and I Love It duo Icona Pop.
